Last week October 28-29, the Raanana municipality hosted an Environment Awareness & Recycling Festival at Park Raanana. Since the idea of RE-SPECS is all about recycling gently used eyeglasses, we had a booth there, of course! The event, boasting tons of great workshops and booths for the benefit of adults and kids alike, brought many people together to raise awareness about recycling and helping the environment. The RE-SPECS booth also underscored how young and not-so-young volunteers came together to help such a good cause. We used the event also as a fundraiser; for every 25 shekels donated, the donor was given a free frame of choice. RE-SPECS raised over 500 shekels to support and further the organization, thanks to the supporting community and committed volunteers.
