"I arrived a month ago from Venezuela and am staying at an absorption center until I find my feet here. It's not easy starting over in a new environment, so discovering such a great service has been a huge help. Todah Rabah!"! I am three-and-a-half years old. This is the first time ever that I am wearing glasses - and I have a high prescription! I see my Mommy and Daddy much better now. Why do you think I'm grinning?
This is our 4th year participating in Good Deeds Day. It's great to join the hundreds of organizations and thousands of volunteers who mark the day with good deeds - something that we try to focus on year round. At our booth in the Kfar Saba mall, we hosted a recycled materials craft activity for the kids. Here's their feedback: "We like the idea of making a craft project using recyclable materials. We learned that RE-SPECS cannot use old glasses lenses for other people's glasses - instead we can use the lenses in a creative way, which is an important lesson in recycling."
I've been walking around without glasses for a very long time. I couldn't see well at all before, but now I can see great! There's no other place that comes even close to RE-SPECS; I warmly recommend this special organization. I live in a hostel for pensioners from the Former Soviet Union. I still have trouble communicating in Hebrew; I try but usually fall back on my native Russian. I am so pleased with having got glasses that I could afford, that I'm going to spread the word around.
