The ICO is the official body representing Israeli licensed optometrists, over 500 in number. The aim of the ICO is to advance the profession by disseminating
information about the latest developments, promoting the highest standards of practice, and arranging training in the newest techniques.
RE-SPECS set up a booth at the conference, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, and enjoyed the opportunity to present our organization to the people who are right there, in the field. We handed out flyers and copies of the newspaper article about RE-SPECS published in Yedioth Ahronoth only a few days previously, and explained the value of collecting reusable frames. The interest shown by the optometrists was immediate and very gratifying. Over 30 optometrists, who had never previously heard of RE-SPECS, expressed their wish to be associated with us and to assist in any way they can.
From frames collection to donations of surplus frames, they joined our growing number of optometrist supporters, many of which can be seen on our OPTOM Support page and on our glasses donations page.
