It's not every day that RE-SPECS staff venture as far north as the coastal city of Haifa. But venture we did this month in order to speak to the exuberant 5th-graders about the valuable work that we do. The David Yellin school prides itself on promoting sustainable social entrepreneurship. The delightful pupils and their teacher Tikvah Silverman listened with lively interest as RE-SPECS CEO Chana Simon elaborated about the glasses collection project. The interactive presentation, an informative hands-on experience with all kinds of glasses frames - plastic, metal, half frames and rimless, was topped off with a gift presentation by the pupils to Chana. The gift was a colorful hand drawing, seen below, along with a pair of rose-colored glasses made by the kids. Click on the images to see the hidden message that the pupils wrote.
